Will Lee filters fit into Cokin Z-pro?

Hey all.
Like to try out some Lee filters, namely Graduated ND filters and eventually 'The Big Stopper'. Only problem is when I checked out the price of the holder...............b​e still my beating heart! Wow talkabout expensive, sooooooooo wondering if the Cokin Z-pro holder will work, which takes the larger resin filters, much cheaper especially when you factor in the adapter rings.
Don't get me wrong I have no issue paying for quality glass or resin but the price they are asking for the Lee holder, etc seems WAY overpriced.

Not sure what the price is in Australia, but in the US the Lee holder is only about $15 more expensive than the Z-Pro...not a big difference considering the advantages to the Lee setup. The Lee wide angle adapter ring is a bit on the pricey side, however, with the Lee holder and WA adapter you won't get any vignetting on a FF camera, even at 16mm with all three slots in place. Can't say that about the Z-Pro...most folks have to do workarounds with the holder in order to eliminate vignetting.

As far as the filters go...yes, any 4-inch wide filter (100mm) will fit in either holder, with possibly one exception...the Lee Big Stopper. The Z-Pro uses three small plastic pins that attach the holder to the adapter ring. The pins protrude into the space below the first filter slot, which basically prevents one from using the first slot (closest to the lens) without a bit of modification. The Big Stopper has foam pads on one side of the filter...with the Stopper in the first slot, these pads sit flush against the face of the holder and prevent light leakage. OTOH, the Stopper is a 4x4 filter...its possible that it may work in the Z-Pro's first slot, but can't say for sure. 4x6 filters are an issue in the first slot, however. Not sure how folks do this with the Z-Pro because of the protruding pins...you may want to check into this before making an investment.

Yes, the Cokin Z holder will work with Lee filters including the Big Stopper. The biggest advantage to the Cokin setup is that you can find a retailer has has stock, as the Lee holder and WA adpater are normally back ordered everywhere, even in UK.
I use only the 82mm Cokin adapter ring and use step ups to go from the smaller lenses to the 82mm (my largest lens thread). Thus I never swap out adapter rings. However, I modify the Cokin Z by placing the adapter ring in front of the holder, with the 82mm threads in the adapter hole facing rearward. Thus the first slot is taken by the adapter and the second slot will accept the filters and is very close to the front edge of the lens and clears the 3 pins Argyle mentions. The foam on the big stopper also clears these pins.

I use the step ups not only with the Cokin Z for GND and ND, but also with large CPs. Step ups are far less expensive than a set of corresponding Lee WA adapter rings and more versatile.

B&H website says the Lee Big Stopper will not fit, as it is 2mm thick compared to the 1.5mm slots on the Z-Pro holder. Can you clarify?

Yes, they will fit. I use the Big Stopper with my Cokin Z-Pro without any problems other than light seepage, which is easily fixed with gaffer tape: https://photography-on-the.net …showthread.php?​p=16899556

I also use the 3-stop ND filter from Lee without any problems at all.
