Question on metering and cleaning camera lens

Argh! My camera lens are never without dust, I usually use chamois(cloth used for wiping glass lenses) and my vapour to wipe the lens but this usually makes it worse from leaving more dust!

What are your recommendation to solve the problem?

Also, I am confused trying to understand what and how light metering modes work, perhaps someone could enlighten me.
