Edit. 308, I mentioned elsewhere about the photos ability to take the viewer, drawing them into the very essence of the landscape, Loving waterfalls and loving to photograph them can be two things. A photograph that helps you feel part of the scenery is added frosting to the photo. That second one, from the angled shot looking up the cascades has that attribute, as does the next with the movement and clear beautiful colours of the water. Maybe I'm biased as I'm sympathetic to the cause, but I'm sure it's not isolated to just those that know what these beautiful places are like first hand. Keep posting and let's all enjoy. Thank you for the kind words once again. There is something calming about waterfalls and gentle streams in the forest. I'm glad you're enjoying them. And I truly do appreciate your comments. I hoping to go back in a couple weeks once the colors start changing more. Its a six hour drive, so it may not happen, but that's the plan. Happy Shooting - Jamey

Maraetotara Falls. Years ago there was a treatment plant - for electricity I assume. Considered one of the iconic images of Hawkes Bay. Oct 11, 2018 07:43 | #1797 Loving these waterfalls. I've had my fill of chasing birds so I'm now chasing waterfalls. Here is a shot I took a couple weeks ago of the tallest waterfall in MN, right on the Canadian border. It's at Portage State Park and called High Falls.
