Beautiful photo.
Colours and light that so typify these scenes and yet aren't easy to bring together in the camera.
You've captured the essence of that landscape so beautifully.

You're too kind! That was 4 days ago and my legs are still sore :)
Appreciate the kind words.

From this past weekend in the Monongahela Nat. Forest

VERY NICE!!! Where exactly is this? I'm from WV and hoping to get back there in a week or so for the fall colors and waterfalls.

308 go to the Monongahela Nat. Fortest .
You'll be looking for Falls of 'Falls of Hills Creek', Googled routed me to the parking lot.
Tucked away in a narrow gorge just off the Highland Scenic Highway is a hidden treasure known as the Falls of Hills Creek Scenic Area. This popular 114 acre area contains three waterfalls - 25 feet, 45 feet, and 63 feet. The lower falls, at 63 feet is the second highest waterfall in West Virginia.
The shot I took was of the second fall.
The first wasn't directly viewable from the trail but at a point you could (cold water, do it in summer) cross the stream and work back to it.
We didn't want to leave the campervan unattended too long and didn't make it to the lowest fall.

I think in two weeks colors should be peaking.

We've ridden the whole Greenbriar River Trail 6 times; WVa is a great state! and close, only 3 hours for us.

WOW... Thanks for the information. I'm not that familiar with that exact area, but will give it a shot.

Lovely fall.
A classic. Browns, greens and white to blues of the water, all combine to form a beautiful image.
Really nice.

Nice shot of a beautiful waterfall. Can't tell that it's 90 feet high. And I've seen kayaks go over it.
