I love both Waikaremoana and Shine Falls. Don't go often enough to either though. I'm in Hastings.

Waterfall is obscured by an uninteresting large rock in the foreground. Elevating the camera by about a foot and moving it closer to that rock would have helped a lot. IMHO of course.

I kinda disagree. The rock is actually fascinating with the growth on it from the moisture/mist provided by the waterfall. I am looking at the picture from a different perspective, trying to take in the entire scene, not just the waterfall.

The intent was to let the large rock in green dominate the foreground while still leaving room for the two cascades on the background. Of course YMMV
