A small DIY-project I wanted to share with you guys.

Recently a friend of mine showed me his Hoodman Loupe, which is a great tool for viewing your LCD-screen in bright light. Because it costs nearly €80, I decided to go for the DIY-approach. And here it is.

It's quite easy to make. All you have to do is find a slide viewer (like this (external link)), and cut off the white plastic part. Then grind down 1 or 2 mm extra and add something that won't scratch your LCD. I used rubber strips, but foam or something else will do aswell. The grinding is needed because the lens focusses on the area between the pyramid shape and the white plastic part. If you add the rubber, the LCD will be out of focus.

I painted mine black, because they only sold the slide viewer in bright yellow.

I hope this is usefull!

It seems I'm the only one who think this is a nice DIY-project :)

Ahaha, ingenious.

It is a neat idea, i may try it out myself. Theres some ebay knockoffs that would probably be better then this for not too much more (considering labor) though.
