Gelling with Modifiers?

I'm shooting a reception this weekend where there's going to be a lot of incandescent lighting which I'd rather use than over-power. In anticipation, I've picked up sheets of full and half CTO gel.

Typically, when shooting a reception, I'm either bouncing off the ceiling and using a large bounce card or I'm sometimes making use of a white shoot through or silver reflective umbrella. Does CTO gel behave the same way with these modifiers? Even the silver umbrella? Do I need to up the gel, meaning if I would normally use the half, I should use the full?

Yes the CTO gels will work as normal. The modifiers change the amount and spread and direction of light but not the temperature (much). If it did, then changing flash power would also affect the colour of the flash (and I think it does but the change is so small its not noticeable)

I frequently gel my flash when I put it in a softbox or even bounce it off white walls
