May 10, 2011 21:38 | #18 At little off the subject, but which lens are you considering renting? I took my 100-400 to the NHRA event in Baytown a couple of weeks ago and was wishing I had a 70-200 to use instead. 7D2, 50D , Canon 50mm 1.8, Canon 10-22mm 3.5, Tamron 17-50mm 2.8, Canon 100mm 2.8 Macro, Canon 100-400mm L II, Canon Speedlite 430EX II, Sigma 18-250

They run weekly discounts on a selected lens so worth a look just for that to see what it is. Obviously if you're local they're the best choice because you can go and pick it up. 5d3,17-40,24-105,24 1.4,85 1.4,70-200 2.8 is ii

Are we then liable for the cost of a replacement lens. Everyone knows how expensive the "Great White" lenses are and they are a target. The only thing holding me back from renting one.

I know people in California that rent 5D's from them ALL the time because the day rate is so much cheaper. May 11, 2011 23:27 | #29 I do worry bout having things like it getting stolen or maybe at the drag races, where I would be using it, That in the past few years Ive been there where we are watching it from, they do a burnout pieces of rubber end up on us. So I wonder if I should rent a lens or borrow one. In the past always had a UV filter on the lenses Ive had in the past. I got to be thinking it could get quite costly to buy a filter to cover the lens element of the lens I rent or borrow, and I cant really afford to do that too. Rubber doesnt clean that easily off of filters from my experience. Canon 5D MK III Gripped
