A couple shots of a tiny church in Bisbee, Arizona.
And again from behind some beavertail cactus in the parking lot:

For a long time I never could understand why anyone would want to venture out into a barren place like a desert. Lately over the past three or four years, I've really learned to appreciate it and fall in love with the scenery. The desert bites back, though. In Prescott, AZ, I accidentally backed into one of these cactuses (cacti?). I was picking those needles out of my legs for hours afterward! The one in this picture looks like it's already lost all its needles, though. BeccaNH wrote: I agree with Stan, the first one is great! The catus is nice, but it seems a bit too "busy" for me. I think I was too close to the cactus in the second shot. Maybe if I had backed up a bit it would have worked a little better. The more I look at it, I'm liking it less and less. Love the first one and of course not having any cactus around here, I love the second also. Cactus is very beautiful and interesting, I guess as long as you don't have to pull needles out of your butt. the name is Winston but they call me Sandy

It just makes it look angled even though it really isn't. Shooting that at the wide end of the 17-40 lens probably exaggerated the effect a little, too. beautiful skies also Hard to believe that only three hours later the skies looked like this and it was pouring rain: That's how things work in Arizona. The clouds and rain appear suddenly, it starts pouring like it's going to flood the area, and a half hour later the clouds break and the sun comes back out again.
