using 7D, have canon 10-22, tamron 28-75 2.8 and sigma 30 1.4. i'm pretty happy with my canon 10-22 right now. i'd like to do some landscape here, portraits there.

Are you unhappy with the Tamron and Sigma lenses? If so, what is it that makes you unhappy with them? Posting some example pictures so we can help determine if the problem is the lens or something you are doing incorrectly.

Macro is also a nice addition to landscapes. Some of my lenses focus beyond infinity...!
