I must admit since owning a dslr I find that I keep all he raw files

But I do delete the images that never get used you could end up having terabytes of images.

Why do we keep all our crap/good images? Is it a hoarding thing about photography?

I can though happily delete and entire days worth of shooting planes, animals etc, but when it comes to family images then I feel bad deleting them as thy are family

Anyone else feel the same

This whole thread means that each of us makes our own choices about this and those choices tend to evolve over time. I'd just say don't throw away today what will matter tomorrow (or in ten years) but don't keep garbage.

Thanks. That encapsulates it extremely well.

I
I'm not sure where you got that I'm not attempting to improve my technique. I'm always learning with every shoot and seeking to improve both with in-field and post processing technique. This thread is only about what to save and what to toss.

I was not intimating that you are not attempting to improve, your asking questions here proves you are. I reread part of my post and can see how you may have thought I meant so, sorry that is certainly not the case though.

After reading your post here, I can see you have a much better understanding of what and how your process is suitable for your needs than I first grasped from your original post.

just a few of my thoughts...
