So I went to BestBuy to compare the 60D and the 7D for the 4th Billionth time. And I am totally convinced the 60D is the right camera for me. It has the right amount of Cross type AF points, little faster FPS than the 5D MARK II and the Vary Angle Screen! Plus it is not heavy at all, for those days when I just wanna take a small body with me! ( Well smaller than the 5D Mark II that is... )

buy it. if you don't like it within the 14 days exchange for the 7D and try that for a week or 2 if you don't like that either and think the 60d was really more your thing, look in the open item area and see if the 60D you returned before is there at a discount. :)

I sell cameras at BestBuy... I can't speak for other stores, but normally my store doesn't do "open item" DSLR cameras. I say normally... we've done a D90 and have a D700 that someone returned from a .com purchase. But, normally, we send the used returned item back to the manufacturer or "PRC" the item for credit from them (In this case, Canon). It hasn't been explicitly mentioned, but I believe PRC = Product Return Credit.

So, don't count on this idea working.

It won't work unless you are a silver rewards member or about. Far less return restrictions...That said, unless youe are dying for the articukating screen, go down to the T3i or wait til the 5dmk3 comes out.

yup, YMMV at bestbuy. just like you can actually ask to get more than a 10% discount on an open item.
they can price match at almost any counter and give you a print out, and not needing to go to CS. some will take a manufacturers coupon and others won't. so aside from finding the 60D as an open item the try and return will work.

The t3i also has the swing out screen. Heres a comparison between t3i and 60D Compare (external link) . Close on the page in regards to score, but there is a hug difference when you go and actually hold them.

What? So you get slightly better hugs when you hold the 60D? :D

Best Buy is not the place to try this "try it out" idea. Returns are a nightmare, shop elsewhere (anywhere) and you'll be better off. I avoid them at all cost.

Not just slightly better hugs, some are so much better they could be considered dry humping. :)

My son just went through FOUR laptop computers before he found one he like.

Laptop #1 - Kept it 10 days - did not like it returned it for the next
Laptop #2 - Kept it for 13 days - did not like it returned it for the next
Laptop #3 - Kept it for 5 days - did not like it returned it for the next
Laptop #4 - Bought an Apple 15" Macbook Pro and it is NOT GOING BACK

Through all of that, we got nothing but SMILES, "No Problem", and simple exchanges at BEST BUY !!!!

I know for a fact I was frustrated with my son going back and forth .... but BEST BUY? They were great about it all.

I think the key to returning product at any store is to have a GOOD ATTITUDE.

Go in with a bad attitude, and you will be met with the same.

.

totally agree, I've returned many things at BestBuy and never had a problem, even some items that are considered "nonreturnable" just go in and be nice and 99% of the time they'll let you return it......do you really think the "kid behind the counter" really cares in the end?

Yeah, however one feels about BestBusy, I've returned at least three items in the past, including a monitor and a printer, and the process could not have been easier.
