Chicago South Pond Herons

Thought these guys were only on an island in the south park of lincoln park here in Chicago and therefore to far away for any decent shots. They are nesting in the nearby trees and fly over pretty frequently.

Very sharp! You've got wonderful shots! Especially like #2 #4 and #5. Eye detail and sharpness are vivid.

Thanks and the South Pond in Lincoln Park here in Chicago. They are geo tagged on flickr so you can see it on a map. I would say there is around a hundred of them nesting right now. Hoping to go back and catch some shots of the little ones later in the summer.

Thanks, I saw one last summer at the north pond and thought it was odd to see one, then realized this summer they nest a 1/4 mile south of there.
