Another of the carraige road bridges in Acadia National Park, one of the more magnificent ones. This bridge was a site to behold, but with limited vantage points and practically impossible to shoot head-on from what I could see.

Twelve significant photographs in any one year is a good crop. -Ansel Adams

The park service was trying to re-grow the plant life on that side of the cliff - too many people trampling on it I guess. There was a sign that I enjoyed explaining this, and it also said something like: "Though your actions may seem insignificant they are not when added to the thousands of other such actions." I gladly had to stay on the rocks, and I was very limited to where I could shoot. It was impossible to get that entire tree in the picture, which was a shame because it is quite gorgeous. From the other side of the bridge. I debated moving those birch limbs, but couldn't bring myself to do so since I don't like disturbing what was there. I think it is very much how I imagined the scene would look without the rock!! Beautiful shot! The tones in it are very nice too. Not so keen on the second one, perhaps because of the little bit of distracting clutter in the right lower corner. Twelve significant photographs in any one year is a good crop. -Ansel Adams

I've got most of the place pretty well documented - I took copious notes while I was roaming around in the fog. The fog blocked most things more than a few hundred yards away so I spent more time driving than shooting. Acadia is a dream for people who like distant views. (At least that's what they tell me...)
