I recently purchased a used Rebel XSi off Ebay.
It was advertised to have anywhere between 3000-4500 actuations.
After receiving the camera today, I plugged the body into EOSinfo and confirmed a grand total of 9681 actuations, which is far higher than even the maximum estimation.
Furthermore, upon inspection of the XSi, I noticed a small portion of the rubberized grip had worn away and the tripod mount had evidence of light use.
The item was proclaimed to be in "mint" condition...
I've contacted the seller expressing my frustrations with this transaction, and I have not yet received a reply.
So, that leaves me with a decision to make: Should I just deal with these problems, or should I take this a step further and file a claim? I mean, to be honest, these are all pretty minor flaws. However, it isn't so much the imperfections that bother me, as the camera still works just fine. Rather, it's the fact that I was lied to that really gets me upset.
What would you do here? Am I just over-reacting, or do I have a right to be frustrated?
