There is no "Mint" according to eBay. Its either "New", "New (Other)", "Like New", "Used", "Refurbished", "Broken/Parts" or something along those lines.

Anything listed with condition such as excellent, mint, very good, etc. is all conditions described by the seller. Everyone has their own interpretations of what is mint, very good, etc.

IMO it's just not smart to offer used photo gear as 'like new', 'mint', etc. There are just too many people who are looking for new gear at used prices.

From a sellers standpoint, its no longer worthy of selling on eBay. eBay now charges a final value fee if you charge shipping PLUS the regular final value fee on the auction itself. I sold two lenses on eBay and eBay took 9% plus fee for receiving PayPal payment.

$227 item and kiss $30 goodbye in ending fees alone. Add another $7 for Paypal.

As for condition, if item was used extensively, its no longer "mint" or "like new". If item was recently purchased or you used it maybe less than 10 times and in light use, I personally would put it "like new". Otherwise, everything else is listed as "used"

I sold a 50D recently that had less than 700 shots on it and even then didn't use 'mint' or 'like new'.

As far as eBay I'm well aware of their fees, I've been selling a few items there lately and am already up to $160 in fees for around $1500 in sales.
