50mm 1.8 VS 28-135 IS

Will I notice a big difference in a 100% crop VS the 28-135.

I do notice that at 100% crop even though the picture is focused shooting landscape I do notice things are not supersharp but when I do resize and sharpen ETC the picture is sharp are 100% pictures supposed to be sharp as a tack at 100% crop or is it like enlarging a picture on an enlarger and losing detail

I am not really sure what you are getting at in the body of the post but in the title you ask "50mm 1.8 VS 28-135 IS" will the 50mm prime be sharper than a zoom? At the same f-stop, yes, yes it will. My 50mm 1.8 blows the doors off even my best Canon zoom at the same focal length and f-stop. Want proof? check the images in this great Fred Miranda article.....http://www.fredmiranda​.com/24-70/

now the 50mm he used is the 1.4 but you'll get the idea.

I have the same 2 lenses for my D30. The 28/135IS is great but no comparison to the 50F1.8 at the 50mm point. I really like to use the 50mm in low light situations.

Got some great night shots with it this past December at Walt Disney World.

Unless I haven't looked carefully enough, there are no shots of the 50mm F4 lens at f8, in the Fred Miranda comparisons. It seems to me that the differences between the 24-70 and 28-70, both set at 35mm and f2.8, are greater than any differences between the 50mm F1.4 and these two zooms at 50mm.

You would generally expect good quality primes to outperform zooms at large apertures (perhaps even knock the socks off them), but at f8 or f11 I think you might be looking at some pretty marginal differences.
