Maybe the title was a little bit misleading, coz theres no setup is little when you bring this much stuff. :D

Hmmmmm So maybe just a 60D with the 18-200 then would be better?

My travel rig is a T2i w/ 18-200. I couldn't be happier with it.

I traveled with a T2i with 18-55 + 55-250 + 50 1.4 and I thought it was really nice. I think an 18-135 or 18-200 or Tamron 18-270 would have been fine too assuming I am not looking to get the highest possible quality but when I start to really compromise I often wonder am I better off just taking an S95 or EPL 2 or something much smaller.

The T3i or th3 60D with the 18-200 and THAT'S IT!

I would take the T3i for it's smaller size and weight and the 18-200 covers a very wide range. For vacations I would travel as light as possible, even better if you had a P&S like the S95.

I honestly wouldn't call your type of set up little. Caring around 4-5 lens at a time is alot honestly. Something small would be one body and one lens or two lens at the most.

If it was me it would be

60D or T3i
15-85
55-250 (Optional)

Or if you don't wanna take an DSLR camera, get a G12.

  • EF-S 60mm f/2.8 MACRO USM

Body: T3i
Lens Setup:

  • EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS MARK II
  • EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS
  • EF 50mm f/1.8 MARK II

Body: 60D
Lens Setup:

  • EF-S 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 IS
  • EF 50mm f/1.8 MARK II
  • EF-S 60mm f/2.8 MACRO USM

"Travel" means anything, but nothing. Don't know why do you need 50 1.8 and 60 macro for travel if you have:

  • EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-5.6 USM

  • EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS MARK II

  • EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS

    But it is not little.

One EF-S 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 IS with one camera= Cute little travel Setup. IMHO.

I would call it my 5D Mark II's Mini-Me! LOL

IMHO, only if you have something like sigma 30 1.4.
I wish they have lens like this for FF.

On my recent trip to Vegas my travel kit was my 60D with Sigma 10-20/Canon 18-200, and so far i was very happy with it.. I never miss another lens.

    For most travels I carry my 7D + 40D with 17-55mm f/2.8 IS and 70-200mm f/4L IS lenses...

If I really want to go light and am not planning on much important photography, I will take only the 7D with 17-55mm lens...

Ya I am seriously thinking about a smaller travel DSLR. But I am thinking also to have it as a back up to my 5D Mark II. I've used the 60D for a party before and it performed like a champ.

    How about this setup?

    Body: 60D

    Lenses:

    • EF-S 15-85mm f/3.5-5.6 IS
    • EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM

    This setup is kinda cool.
