These energizer batteries are getting expensive and I was wondering how the top rechargeable batteries compare to the life of the energizer lithium's. I am going to need 12 batteries total for my 580 ex and external battery pack.

Last year i bought the below Powerex charger and 8 of the Powerex 2700 mah batterys and have been very impressed. The charger will charge my older eneloops and so far the Powerex hold there charge IMO very good. None of the better systems are cheap though so we might as well pony-up.

I still have the old Ray0Vac 15 minute charger and its proprietary batterys but they are no match for this Powerex system:

Don't use the Energizer Lithiums; there are documented heat issues with using lithium batteries with flash units. They get HOT!
I use Eneloops in all my flash units, and I couldn't be happier.

I used to use the Lithiums in my 430EXIIs and recently switched to the Eneloops. The Eneloops give me a lot more uses per charge, and unlike the Lituiums, I can recharge the Eneloops when they go dead. I got mine at Costco and couldn't be more pleased.

On a side note when I got mine I got a little holder for 8 of them. Works great and looks after my little batties :) they aren't expensive so worth getting.

i just bought 12 enelopps on amazon.com with a charger for 41.00 shipped. ( damn tax ).. i've read nothing but good stuff on them which is what led me to buy them. I can't complain to much on the price I paid considering in the past year ( 1 YEAR )... i've prolly spent nearly 200.00 on batteries.. i dont even want to touch past that year.

Still waiting for mine because of Adoroma yet again. I'm seriously thinking about ordering from B&H from now on. I have a wedding coming up next week and I'm sick of wasting money on the energizer lithiums so I ordered the enloops and I always get my order the next day because I live like 3 hours away from the warehouse they ship from. I ordered my typical extra few bucks in shipping and they shipped my order using the free streamlite shipping crap. The tracking info said it will be at my house in over a week! They refunded my shipping money but im without batteries now I guess I gotta suck it up and by $30 of lithium's,

There's rumors about "Duraloops" being Eneloops disguised as Duracell rechargeables. Keep an eye out for batteries with "white tops" and "made in Japan" on the labels.

Check this thread:
https://photography-on-the.net …026238&highlight=eneloops

You might see them at Costco, Target, Walmart, other local stores.

I use Eneloops in my 430EX and they last a pretty long time and recycles quickly. Even if they aren't quite as good as the lithiums, I would still recommend them since they're rechargeable and therefore last a lot longer than lithiums for the cost.

I use Rayovacs on all my flashes and have Eneloops as my backups and extras.
Never had a problem with Rayovacs. They are 3x cheaper than Eneloops.
Just make sure you get LSD (low self discharge) batteries.

nkon (external link)
eurobatteryitalia (external link) (from ebay.it)
i don't known how good are these seller but given that on europe usually there are few things perhaps could interest someone.
