The sky illumination is obvious, but what caused the foreground illumination?

I was at the drag strip, just outside the gates. The race was postponed for a bit, so I went nuts. Those are light from the strip and the parking lot hitting up the foreground. Cool effect I think.

Hi Matt, These are pretty nice lightning strikes, an I agree that the light build up in the foreground looks cool. :D

It would have been even better, I think, if there had been just two or three foreground bushes lit that way.
