I tried it out and every store in VA is 'unavailable'. Looks like a dead deal.

this may be a crazy thought, but maybe it means their warehouse ran out and the only place left to get it is in store?

Yep while I was thinking, all my local stores are sold out now. Bestbuy has tons of other deals in the area. Interesting why are they blowing out lots of their inventory, not just the photo equipment.

Could be following Circuit City. Every time I go by BB here the parking lot is empty.

I am trying to get this deal, called their 1-888 number and the guy said I myself had to find a warehouse that had it in stock. I've tried almost every state in the US, but it seems no one has it.

Only option left is to call each individual store to see if they have it.

Although if this marks the incoming 5diii, maybe I should hold off a bit longer :X

Smells fishy. So they list an incredible price on the 5D2 and no store so far has it.

Just spoke to someone at my local store, she checked all stores in my district, and then "territory" and said NO ONE had it and there was no way to order it whatsoever.

She said this is the time that DI clears out their inventory and new models come out about now, and she thinks they are clearing out the 5Diis for this exact purpose.

Maybe I'll hold off to see what comes along.

I thought I did good because I got mine for 2500 at Best Buy when everyone else had already jumped to 2800, now I'm wishing I was a silver RW zone member, I might still be in my 45 days to get a refund of the difference.

===

Just checked, apparently I am a silver member (wife shops there more than me, yay!), but I got my 5d in the store on 3/28, missed on it, but still happy with the camera at 2500!

now makes me wonder how much it's going to cost to upgrade to a mk3............

No stores within my area have it either. But they are stocking the 7D kit with 28-105 for 1594.99 (reg. 1899.99). Not a bad deal on the 7D

Well they not only cleared out the 5DII, but also the T3i, T2i, D7000, e.t.c. So I'm not sure if the 5D3 coming out is true. Maybe overstock of items? Or using their usual WorstBuy tactic of getting people into the store.
Usually, from my past experience with BestBuy, and I've bought a lot of items there over the years, was: they post a blowout deal for Sunday's paper, and have only 5 or 6 of the items in stock per store. That was the case when I got my laptop from them, my TV, desktop, e.t.c. Even with most of their items on display. I was frustrated so many times of having to choose one item over another while in store, then calling the sales rep over just to hear that none of the items are available.

Placed an order. And I'm back to my 2nd 5D Mark II body after a short stint with Nikon (for 3 months)!!!

Wow, score. Even though I was told by 2 separate stores (BestBuy) that no one around here has it in stock, I decided to call a certain special location.

They are holding it for me now. They said they are the ONLY ones in the MidWest to have one in stock
