They only had one left or I may have tried (although I did rape that store by getting it for that fluke price, I wouldn't want to take advantage)

Looks like it came with a 4 gig sandisk extreme iii card inside the camera, filled with sample pics from inside the BB store ??? So its not a virgin camera.

check the shutter count. i would bring it back then if it looks like a demo item, they advertised this as new right? maybe they'll give you a further discount for being a demo/opened box?

You got a free CF card--that would make up for it in my mind :D

Well after dumping the card and exif sleuthing, it looks like this card is just a beater card they use for showing off cameras, as MOST pics are from a 7D (the card was 100% full of random shots around the store)

Only 19 of them came from a 5D2, and it was only used for 2 minutes, by a BB employee:

HTTP response: NOT FOUND | MIME changed to 'image/gif' | Redirected to error image by TINYPIC

I had to set the date and time myself, so I think I can safely assume this thing only has 19 actuations, and wasn't abused by clueless customers.

Overall, I'm very satisfied with my lucky purchase.

Did you check the shutter count with EOSinfo?

I tried to get 5% off to offset tax using Discover shopcenter but when I tried to checkout yesterday my card was declined. By the time Discover called me to remove the hold on my card the 5Dii was OOS so I "saved" $2300. Still tempted to go with the continental miles deal.

23.

Which includes the 4 I took myself. Awesome.

And it looks like my 40D only has 11000.
