Do they say/advertise they price match?

From what I've seen, I've never seen that they price match with other retailers, but I have to imagine that if they lower their own price within 30 days, you should be able to contact them for the difference (else, you simply request a refund and re-purchase the item)

I am glad OP has a +ive outcome.

If they do not say anything about price matching they don't have to. They asked the camera back and that was reasonable enough thing to do at least IMO. Don't want to beat the dead horse - just my opinion.

Cheers

Same positive B&H outcome for me recently. Purchased a HD camcorder from B&H, two weeks later it's $60 less at BB. Sent B&H customer service an email and the difference was credited back to my card ... first time, no hassle. Before this, I was not a regular customer, but I will be from now on.

Not so positive for me. Also ordered a 60D less than a week ago, couldn't get a hold of anyone at B&H last night during the sale as it was after business hours so I E-Mailed them to make sure I had a timestamp of when I first made the request. Multiple live chats, phone calls, etc.. with time-stamp proof, screenshot of the deal and still no dice for me. Have a voicemail in to a supervisor there but not expecting anything different. $150 is a lot to someone just starting out in the DSLR world and it would be nice to put that towards another lens.

Glad some others got through toe B&H though. What's the secret?

It's at that price just for a day.

I dont know why you people think your entitled to the price change in the first place since B&H does not advertise they will do it, even amazon got rid of it.

Yup, I think B&H was being flexible enough--the OP had no real reason to be upset with B&H. Unreasonable expectations.

After posting an angry message regarding B&H not having a price guarantee policy (they originally refused to match a lower BestBuy sales price just three days later, they called me back, on the phone, and refunded the $150 difference between what I paid to them for my 60D, and the current price at BestBuy.
Thank you, B&H.

You're welcome, and I appreciate this apology. For others who may be curious -- B&H entertains price match inquiries every day. Each is routed through a sales manager specifically assigned to the task. We (of course) prefer to get questions of this nature before, rather than after, a transaction has been completed.

We say, "Yes," as often as we can and regret when circumstances oblige us to decline. As others here have noted though, we make no promises about a universal price-match policy. Each inquiry is considered individually.

Actually, I do not care if I am "slaughtered" or not. Yes, I do have a feeling of entitlement. I am dealing with a business. I am the Customer. I am this business' lifeline. Without me they will have none. And that's why many stores have the price protection guarantee, matching prices, etc. I would like to believe that B&H matched the prices for everyone because I raised the stink, and now this price is available for everyone.

We live in a real world. I will lose my livelihood if I do not make my customers happy, whoever and whatever they are. B&H know this. And they know that I will go back to them for my next lens and camera.

In any way, it was fun.

Well, I guess You is the Royal You, meaning all of us.

Yeah I guess if all of us stopped spending our money at B&H, they'd go out of business.

Only problem with that logic is that it's illogical.

B&H never states they have the absolute lowest prices. They are not Crazy Eddie. They are not Worst -- uh, I mean Best Buy.

B&H has more stock in one small corner of their warehouse than Best Buy in their entire corporation.

Best Buy cannot even be mentioned in the same sentence.

Henryp is the best.
