Any recoos on gels?
Yes, The swatchbooks from rocso or Lee are the perfect size for a speedlite. You can get them free, or cheap at any lighting or theatrical supply warehouse. If not B&H carries them.

There's nothing more frustrating to deal with than mixed light types if you don't do something up front to reduce the light quality differences. Exactly! A few months ago I did a series of shots of someone cooking in our kitchen, where the lighting is tungsten. With the kitchen background 2 stops below the key flash, AWB, and no gel, the kitchen was very yellow and the individual was color neutral. Very un-natural and time consuming to correct with masks, etc. in PP. I switched to tungsten WB and put a full CTO over the key flash, and the lighting was perfect! Hugh

But there are hundreds! How do you even know how to reach for yellow or pink? Most of them are for creative gelling, which can be fun if you have multiple flashes. But for tungsten or sodium vapor lights you want orange generally. CTO gels (Color Temperature Orange) come in various strengths 1/8, 1/4 all the way to full CTO are good for tungsten and also give a nice balance against a sunset. Play with the green range for fluorescent tubes, although they change color from batch to batch and as they age so you might have to experiment to just the right one.
