Whoa!! 70 miles? Sore butt time for sure. :) I am still a novice. My longest ride last year was 36 miles and I was about cooked. I can't imagine doubling it.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

I hope so! Did i mention i went through two flats during the Brooklyn tour :( First time ever with two on one ride! Ill make sure to have two spares this time around instead of one and being stranded

Any specific plans? I always tell myself i should go out shooting in the rain. I have all the gear i need for it to protect my camera but never do. Something about the city and rain makes it look totally different.

 I have some great chamois which makes it feel like im sitting on a pillow! :) I usually double them up for very long rides. So for tomorrow i will have this on:

http://www.specialized.com …CEqProduct.jsp?spid=58087 (external link)

They will be under these:

http://store.trekbikes.com …C14%2C382&iProductID=2586 (external link)

I have a pair of normal looking cargo shorts from canondale that i walk around in as the tights aren't flattering to look at say while eating in a restaurant for a quick meal  They roll up small and i can fit them in the back pockets of both my jerseys. :)

So far this year the longest ride ive done has been about 50 miles. With the verezano bridge being the last leg of that! Really kicked my behind as that bridge inclines for over a mile!

The trick to riding long is to ride at your sustainable pace. Stop every 15-20 miles for about 10 minutes max. Longer than that and your legs will begin to tighten up. Fuel up on water and have some light food. Drink water every 30 minutes while riding and mix in some Gatorade as your body needs the electrolytes and sugar. If you do all of that then getting to the end will be easier. :)

Hi chief, recovered from your road trip? What is on the agenda today?

You know what you need, chief, is one of those Go-Pro HD cameras, and put it on your train set :D

I have no interest in seeing close-up shots of how shoddy my work is.

Today is a work day. I'll be entombed in my muggy little office doing office-type things.

I need to be at home for a couple of deliveries for the house project, and I think I'll just kick back in the hammock under the oak and read an early Father's Day present - the new Tom Clancy novel - that one of my sons sent me.
