I'm stuck in my steamy little office doing paperwork. I have a fellow coming to give the A/C a checkup. We're getting into the time of year when yo don't want any surprises. (108 here on Wednesday --- we were in the Bay Area )

I need to be at home for a couple of deliveries for the house project, and I think I'll just kick back in the hammock under the oak and read an early Father's Day present - the new Tom Clancy novel - that one of my sons sent me.

Love me some Tom Clancy novels! Read a bunch of them a few years ago.

I'd hate to estimate what you pay down there in the desert. They're bad enough up here, especially after PG&E took our old meter out and gave us one of them thar "Smartmeters"

It "smarts" all right - my old meter was apparently under-charging us by at least 70%.

Morning all.

Love the shots of the pup, very cute.

Have a good ride Omar. Might jump on a bike myself this weekend. Maybe the mountain bike though.

Looks like a busy weekend for me. Off to soccer later this morning as they asked Aaron to be in the team photo despite missing most of the season due to his injury. Might take the camera. Followed by a few errands. Tomorrow I probably should mow my neglected lawn.

You cant blame me for automatically thinking 108 here  I prefer the heat from my parents homeland the dominican republic. Sit in the front porch and have a nice wind pass by. Very relaxing :)

They installed them here last year, too. (Southern Cal. Edison). Fortunately, I haven't seen too much variation in our bills. Our electric bill for the hottest months have run as high as $1,400.00)

Not much to see, my bike is just an a 10yr old Avanti with only front suspension.

He's doing real well. On mid year school hols for 3 weeks now so for him it's time to hit the xbox. He's ready for some longer exercise so I suggested a few walks to the park and around the block to get some muscle tone going.

I'm in the good books as I managed to tweak the router settings to stop dropouts when he was on xbox live. The smart house phone that can connect to the net to get weather and news was clashing with the xbox.

We had them installed here as well, on both our electric and gas meters. There hasn't been an appreciable change in our bills either.

Holy carp. My bill is about $500 a quarter. Of that I can get reimbursed about $1300 due to a salary deal we did a few years back. Our company used to be the retailer, but now we are just a distributor. They sold off the retail part of the business. Big rebates here at the moment to install solar on your roof. About 14,000 a month are doing it. For most houses you can usually get a net export to the grid if you can get enough roof space. Solar plays havoc with our network though, we struggle to manage the voltage profile on the network as the solar output fluctuates with cloud cover.

Mind you, there is no heating or cooling in that bill of mine (other than the hot water system). Sitting in the lounge at the moment in a track suit, Ugg boots and a blanket over my legs, it's 50F outside and supposed to be 45F outside. We get by without heating or cooling, but keep saying I will install a reverse cycle AC..... one day.
