There's nothing subtle about Sean Tucker or his act... :lol:

Something for those chilly winter nights:

It actually kind of bugged me that AirVenture resorted to bringing in a vehicle demo like this. I expect next year, or the year after, we'll get Monster Trucks and/or Robosaurus! :rolleyes:

Yeah...

They perform with Randy Harris and Gary Ward as "Team Chaos" and they do a Plane Vs Truck race with a wall of fire as their finale but...

<Shrug>

I can think of a couple of airshows that I used to attend that died a slow death after they tried to draw the non-airshow crowd with Metal Mullisha, Monster Trucks, etc...

Seeing a wheeled vehicle at an airshow leaves me feeling like I've been visited by that cat that predicts when people are going to die. To me it says "We can't put on enough of a true airshow to make a go of it so we'd better lower the beer prices and bring in terrestrial entertainment..."

Variety is the spice of life.....or so someone said.

I can see your point though. If I went to an airshow I would be expecting to see things fly.....much like I wouldn't expect to see planes or boats at a train show.

It's definitely cool to see / hear / smell a round engine when they crank:

Yours Truly (r) with Jim Koepnick, Chief Photographer for EAA prior to a dawn photo mission (on which I did not get to go...) :(

IMAGE: http://crosswindimages.com/img/v32/p933356302.jpg

If this image doesn't look quite right, bear in mind it was shot with a Nikon...

Funny how Jim's drinking the coffee and I'm the one that looks wired! :shock:

Some great shots Jay.

Tonight millions of Aussies are filling out forms... tonight is our 5 year census. I did mine online.

I love the way the light changes the entire landscape in the mountains. There are days I seriously envy Jay for his locale.....then I look at the thermometer and bounce back to my senses. :lol:
