It's kind of what you have set up but a much lighter version. It's put out by Google and iIt does display the map of your route, show elevation change and time and such. It uses both cell towers and GPS to record position info and seems to be pretty accurate, (at least to 9 meters).
That is pretty cool. I would be interested if you had time to post something up of it

If you click on "player" on the right side above the map next to "details, split". You can see all the live data which was recorded as i went through my ride. Interesting stuff. Im a numbers guy so this really gets my attention
