Yeah... With hurricane level gusts on an almost daily basis, I've learned to love the wind, too.

But, I still love the snow! Bring it on!!!

So do I. I need to head west so bad.

Don't waste your time moving to California. One of the highest state unemployment rates, and also longest time unemployed rates.

And those that are employed are hurting. Lockheed-Martin just won a new training contract at the nearby USCG Training Center. Under the new contract, they reduced the pay of the instructors by 42%!

That Sux!

We actually have SoCal just slightly on our radar. My wife has a former boss working there who keeps popping back in from time to time to see if my wife is interested. She has a non-compete clause in place for a few more months so nothing official but she keeps checking.

I keep warning my wife that her paycheck will have to at least triple if not quadruple for us to live there on what amounts to essentially one income.

I don''t think we could afford to live here if it weren't for the sweetheart deal we get from Heather's parents for living in their house and taking care of the two rental units.

Call me weird but when it snows like that is when im most happy. Something very relaxing about shoveling the snow with just the wind as some sound. Maybe when my back gives out ill feel different about it

There are two kinds of snow (well way more than 2, but 2 will do). The nice light fluffy stuff on a nice calm day, and the heavy wet stuff on a cold blistering windy day. My pic was the latter. it too almost 6 hours to get to the street and much of that was tossing 30 lb shovel fulls 6 feet in the air because it was so high. Not fun. Then to top it off it was blistering cold with a really strong wind, the kind that chill you to the bones. Nope... not fun at all.
