I'm done with it. I need beaches, bikinis, sun and fun. No more snow, parkas and Kennys for me.

And yours??

There are two kinds of snow (well way more than 2, but 2 will do). The nice light fluffy stuff on a nice calm day, and the heavy wet stuff on a cold blistering windy day. My pic was the latter. it too almost 6 hours to get to the street and much of that was tossing 30 lb shovel fulls 6 feet in the air because it was so high. Not fun. Then to top it off it was blistering cold with a really strong wind, the kind that chill you to the bones. Nope... not fun at all.

My next step after getting the driveway cleared would have been to go out and buy a snow blower...

It has not been a good couple of months for the San Diego Police Department...

Three dead officers in the last two months. The first was a female detective stabbed to death by her mentally ill son, a motorcycle officer who committed suicide after being arrested for DUI and hit-and run, and the third, just last Saturday, was an officer killed in an apparent random shooting. The suspect was subsequently tracked down and killed by police when he went for a gun.

Hadn't heard the last officer had died...

Sad indeed. :(

I have one. It will not handle 24" of wet snow and I have a pretty big one. My neighbor tried using his but gave up after an hour or so.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

Other than time on the ice cap.....I think that is the furthest I've ever been from civilization.....

Which ice cap?

Sorry to hear that. It's a tough profession. I'm amazed my brother survived 3 decades of law enforcement work and is still sane too.

You do know that I'm a transplanted Michigander as well, right?

I do now. I don't really consider myself a transplant. Hated the snow and was just there for college.

The final straw for me was one of those late spring time snowstorms that always seems to come in with one last blast of winter. Went outside the next morning to the car with 6 inches of snow on the partially raised hood. Some %^&&* had ripped out my battery with cable cutters. I swore that day I would never live in a place where it snowed.

I like California Snow in the Sierra's. You can drive up to it. Have fun in it, and leave when you've had enough. :D

Nice...

I was a Chippewa myself so I had no dog in the Big 10 fight but having been to a few games at Ann Arbor, I can appreciate the buzz of a game at the Big House!
