I need to do some more testing when I get home tonight.
It may be the motherboard which is nearly impossible to test, but can cause so many problems.

I need to flash the BIOS tonight and see if that helps, I'll run memtest to check the memory and I'll try a few other things. At least I still have a working computer for now.

What mobo are you running? I have heard that there are quite a few issues with the new Asus boards and the Sandybridge procs. Not sure of the details but I know my son had all kinds of issues until he installed a BIOS upgrade. ASUS never mentioned anything about stability issues but the upgrade solved his problems.

Yeah... I've heard the 1155 boards are just a mess to begin with.

It's an ASUS P8Z68-V Pro motherboard. A bios update will be the first thing I do when I get home.

Horrible....had a defect in my chain....side plate popped off causing the chain to twist as I am climbing the hill this morning....which, of course, jammed in the front derailleur and twisted that up like a pretzel....

Now I need to either run into town and get a new chain and front derailleur or just run my bike down and let the shop fix it. I'd rather do it myself and get the process of aligning the derailleur down. Either way....it may wait until tomorrow morning....I seem to have developed a headache and think a nap might be fun.

Oy not only was that bad but it happened going up hill! Were you clipped in?

I would let the shop fix it and just ask away as they are doing it. At least this time since you have suffered enough aggravation from it.
