It is interesting to note the common gear selections here....5,6 get used heavy on the hills....12,13 around the neighborhood and 16, 20 and 21 out on the open. If I could gear the cassette right......I wouldn't need a front derailleur.

Im at about 12-15 on a hill depending the grade of it. Which i usually maintain through out unless my legs give out and a drop all the way down to the lowest gears  . Out on flats im usually around 16-19 and drop to lower gears if im in the city with stop and go traffic. This all changes dramatically if im riding say 35+ miles as everything ends up dropping about 3-4 gears due to fatigue.

Are you on a compact, double or triple?

Ah alright. I can see you easily being at home in a double or compact. Seems like you have the legs for it.

Im on a compact 20 speed. 50/34 12-28. Does a good job for me so far.

Disaster seems to be my middle name the past couple weeks.

Wanna trade?

I dropped Ellen off this morning (was supposed to yesterday, but things got sucky at work and I was delayed). I can't wait to see how she looks next week when they're finished!

Of course, from the body shop I then headed to Enterprise Rent-A-Car to get my loaner for the duration, and that's when things really became fun. A couple hours after camping out in the lobby at Enterprise and spending about half of that time on the phone with Allstate Insurance they finally turned me loose in a Dodge Avenger. How about that? My rental for the week is the same exact kinda car that started the whole mess that caved Ellen's driver's side to begin with...

I won't even get into why it took me another half hour to drive the one freakin' mile from Enterprise to home... My pillow is calling my name!

My name is Lonnie, but I answer to Thomas too.

Calvin and Hobbes. Oh, how I miss them. Thanks for the guffaw.

I remember Dad teaching how to ride a bicycle. Looking back on that whole experience, I'm impressed with what a patient man he was, and how he was able to hide his frustration at what a slow learner I was. He also must have had pretty good physical stamina as he pushed me around for what must have been hours before I 'figured it out.' Then, of course, there was no stopping me, and I gave myself all the credit for this great accomplishment.

Got new toys today :D

2 new 3 TB harddisks to replace the two 1,5 TB disks in my photo editor pc I was running out of space fast.

The Canon 100 mm f/2.8L IS lens.

Nice purchase. The 100 L and a 50 1.4 would complete my lens needs.

I haven't been around this thread much lately. Are you still making those fantastic MPE 65 bug photos?
