Miles 23-40 actually really sucked, there are some steep climbs in there, and lots of big rolling hills... The climb right around mile 32 really sucks. :(

I figure any hill after mile 1 really sicks.. :) but then I'm from Illinois. ;):)

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

I'm with you on that! I hate climbing...

It's funny though, I was dreading that Category 3 climb so much, but I haven't felt that good on a climb like that since I started riding.

It was right in front of my car as I was pulling into the parking lot of a Vons supermarket. There was a very loud *crack*, then a BOOM!!!!, then suddenly everything went blindingly white in front of me as the roof of the Vons building was hit.

It was kind of impressive, and fun in a way....

I've been there...

We were at a campout and sitting in a friend's motor home. A bolt hit a small ridge not 100 yards from us and we saw the strike out the front windshield of the motor home. You could also see the smoldering spot from where the strike was... No fire.

So you think you can ride a bike? This video (external link) is pretty long, but the guy is something else riding his bike. Just turn on your sound and sit back and enjoy this one. Music is not bad either.

I'd like to see him do that on a road bike...

Really though that's crazy... the interesting thing too is that it's like trial bike and bmx rolled up into one.

That guy is freakin' insane. He is going places on a bike that I would have difficulty walking. :)

I'll have to use one of those folding bikes. It's too difficult traveling with a regular bike. Otherwise, a piece of cake.

I used to love observed trials (watching it, not doing it) on motorcycles. Those guys are magicians. (This guy ain't chopped liver.)

As I was watching, I couldn't help but wonder how many bones he's broken to get to that level.
