Does the Pearstone LP-E8 work with the Meike grip ?

Hello ,

I'll be buying the Meike grip for my 550D (item ebay link ) , as you can see it doesn't come with any extra batteries , so i'll buy from BH the Pearstone LP-E8 battery (BH item link) but i wanted to make sure that it'll work with the grip ,

i understand it might not read the battery charge indicator correctly , but that's not a big deal to me .

Edit : If you have any other battery recommendations , i'm open to all options

Any thoughts / experiences ? not necessarily with these brands , but with 3rd party grips and batteries in general .
