..when you place a semi-transparent band, say along the bottom 1/4 of the image and put some text in it? Ie; a wedding photo and the b&gs names in the band? I need to know what it's calle dso I can google how to do it.

There may be a short cut, but you could simply make a selection on a blank layer and fill with whatever color you wanted, then do a text layer on top of that, flatten, save and then drag it onto any photo you wished, fit it with the transform tool and lower the opacity to taste.

You could just create a new transparent document, create your line to whatever width and color of your choice, then add a text layer and save so you can use it on multiple photos. Again..there may be an easier or more direct way; but this should probably work. Yes, you can use the Marque tool to make your selection then Fill. Just as easy to use the brush tool to create the line in one sweep though. Tim Kerr
