I would love some C&C on this photo. The embedded image isn't my final production of this: PLEASE VISIT THE LINK!!! To meet file sizes this photo had to be dumbed down a lot, lost quite a bit of oompf,. That's mostly due to my ineptitude in resizing the file. Linked file also had my updated PP on it, sharpened, increased saturation and so on.

(Site in progress, thats why its in a gallery with a pic of my grandmother titled NYC!)

I had a hard time reducing noise/sharpening this thing. The way the moonlight selectively hit the bark made it hard to get a "smooth" looking textured tree. I ended up just applying extra noise reduction to get the "smoothness" I wanted.

Please let me know what you think on all aspects!

EOS DIGITAL REBEL XS, Tamron 17-50, f/7.1 @ 17 mm, 303s, ISO 200. "Sunset" is actually NYC light pollution.

I myself really like the scene and framing . I really like the picture from your link best . Looks like what you are lacking in this image is lack of color . The link image looks more saturated and sharper . Maybe if you raise the contrst a slight amount on this one it will look better . Other than that i'd take the one on your website and resize to 1000x wide and post it here again without doing any other PP to it and we can compare it better .

Thanks for the comments. I wasn't quite looking to compare the two. I just posted this one here as a quick glimpse to whats on the site. I'm just interested in improving the one in the link. Thank you!

As for the framing, it was too dark to see the outlines of the tree when I took it, I wish I hadn't included the right half of the tree along the right side. But maybe its not so bad.

I don't see a problem with either image and the framing is very good ! Not much to improve on on these particular images .
