Other than trains, this has been my favorite thing to practice on for the last few months. Some are with a tripod, most are handheld and all are natural light only. I haven't mastered using a flash yet.

First day...too excited to notice that I placed it where it has cranes growing out of its roof

Few weeks later, new wheels, but before the new springs and dampers

Nice light on #2. Try a few more without the reflection of the pole & light on the bottom of the front wheel?

Yeah, another thing I saw too late. That particular location is nice and close to my house, but has like 20 light poles all over the dang place! That is nice winter dusk at about 4:30 and really sets off the color of the car well.

I am going to try to get back out to Treasure Island with my tripod some evening this summer and see what I can get with the Bay Bridge and San Francisco in the background without any light poles!

Funny, everyone I know who doesn't have a GTI loves the stock wheels (they are called "Detroits" by VW), but almost everyone I know who has a GTI has different ones.
I hated the fender gap until I put the new springs on, but now I think it looks just right. I want to try to get some more creative pictures, but it's raining here in the Bay Area so I will have to wait a while before heading out to take more.
