$1400 with 15% off, so $1200 or so before tax. Oh and double reward points on GT so I get 20% back as in store credit. So I just bought pedals/shoes today and I'll buy a helmet and clothing later this weekend once my points hit.

you can do the mod if you find the default positions not to your liking, doing the mod probably makes the arrangement of controls identical to canons TS-E

yeap... and I think if I do the mod I will clear the flash overhang on the D700 as well... not sure until I have the lens in my hand hehe

you might not even have to mod the lens since you never had a tilt/shift you wouldn't notice the arrangement of controls, you would just get used to them

if I sell my D700 now I would lose at least $500... and no I am not gonna buy a 5D MKII so I guess I might need to add more than $1000 for the new Canon body coming out.

$1500 can almost already buy me the 24mm TS-E or 24-70mm or 16-35 f/4 orr your Bike... I will lose too much money

I think there are situations wherein you might need to tilt and shift at the same time... but yeah I should check it out first. I am after the whole deep DOF thing... in focus from foreground to background hehe.
