Bought :p

It's a 2010 GT GTR Series 1

Specs can be found here
2010 GT GTR Series 1 (external link)

$1400 with 15% off, so $1200 or so before tax. Oh and double reward points on GT so I get 20% back as in store credit. So I just bought pedals/shoes today and I'll buy a helmet and clothing later this weekend once my points hit.

Pedals (about $100 after discounts)
Shimano Ultegra 6700 Pedals (external link)

Shoes (On Clearance about $100 after discounts :D)
Sidi Zephyrs (external link)

Congrats on your new bike!! :D

nice nice congrats Nick...how much is the damage?

Thanks. I updated my post about $1650, I still have some stuff to buy, but I should be getting some in store credit back in the next day or two so I'll head back in Sunday/Monday and get the rest.

Julian looks like no way to mount Canon lenses on Nikon bodies due to small Lens mount

so no wonder I can't find anybody using the combo hehe

Yeah, it's impossible to mount a Canon lens to a Nikon

Well not impossible... just not really doable.

Hmm... that's weird.

no , we can use nikon lenses but noinks can't use ours because of the diameter of the mount, no room for an adapter

you can do the mod if you find the default positions not to your liking, doing the mod probably makes the arrangement of controls identical to canons TS-E ;)

yeap... and I think if I do the mod I will clear the flash overhang on the D700 as well... :D not sure until I have the lens in my hand hehe

jdizzle wrote in post #12492274 (external link)
I see.

Nothing much. Packing all the gear since I dropped dead on the bed at 7 pm!:lol: A much need rest imo. :p

Hmm... that's weird.

yeap if you notice your 14-24mm probably has a smaller mount than the rest of your Canon lenses hehe

Yeah Yeah. I know. But I need to start working out on a more regular basis, and I enjoy riding my bike so this is a good purchase for me.

you might not even have to mod the lens since you never had a tilt/shift you wouldn't notice the arrangement of controls, you would just get used to them ;)

Yes it is!

unless you give me the cost of your bike then it is the solution

if I sell my D700 now I would lose at least $500... and no I am not gonna buy a 5D MKII  so I guess I might need to add more than $1000 for the new Canon body coming out.

$1500 can almost already buy me the 24mm TS-E or 24-70mm or 16-35 f/4 orr your Bike... I will lose too much money

I think there are situations wherein you might need to tilt and shift at the same time... but yeah I should check it out first. I am after the whole deep DOF thing... in focus from foreground to background hehe.

Julian show us some TS-E shots :D
