Exactly my point is enjoy as she grows up when you are 58 she will be away in college and probably will already get her own place.
You are relatively young, others are already on their retirement age. My eldest son, who married young will have all his three children finish under grad college in 4 years, when he is 48... So I am telling him he can retire before 50.
I also married young thus, I could retired at 50 actually I did but got back to work when I got tired of playing golf everyday.

Well, if things work out as planned for me and my wife, we can retire a bit early. :) When did you come to the US?

Ooo... fresh, clean baby smell :D

The trouble is, that smell doesn't last very long. Then you get a different kind of smell.

I usually tell parents of rambunctious little kids, "He's not spoiled. A lot of little kids smell like that!"

And people in Hell want icewater!!!

It all depends on where you live. Out here where I am, $400K would get you what you're asking for, and more. In the greater LA area, $400K would get you a small townhouse. In NYC, $400K would get you a large cardboard box.

And that's why I live here! 400k will get a really nice house, a really nice location, or a really nice bit of space. 2 years ago our neighbours up the road sold their place for about 350k. Nice farmhouse, full barn, driveshed, 5 acres, all very well kept.

Well I'm sure you young studs and bike enthusiasts wil find this story from today really frickin' hilarious...

First, I haven't ridden a bike for probably 10 years. I turned 60 in March and am definitely not what you would call in "good shape" either -- a half hour walk is to me exercise. And, in the weeks since my daughter wrecked my car, until something really affordable shows up, walking has been my main mode of transportation, just to get me to a couple places a couple times a week or so.

Well, my daughter visited for a couple days this week so we could get her laptop up and running, which we succeeded in doing, although Adobe support failed to return calls to deactivate my old copy of CS3 so I could install it on her laptop. I ended up installing an available copy of Elements 5 and, with my available copy of Lightroom 1.4 she is now quite happy once I upgraded her memory to 1.256 Gig from the terrible 256 Meg it had.

And then, I sold my wrecked car on Craig's List Saturday, which left me with $300 cash burning a hole in my pocket. Well, I really have no use for carrying cash around, I just use a debit card. I needed the cash in the bank, not in my pocket.

Well, a hike to the bank and back would be about 3 miles. But, my daughter brought her old bike with her (she rides it to and from bus stops to get to here). So, I figured "what the hey, I'll hop on the bike!" and so prepared to ride to the bank, a bit farther to get some foodstuffs, then back!

So, off I rode. The terrain here, unfortunately, is not flat, it's half uphill and only half downhill and it was a pretty low-geared one-speed bike. Well, this 60-year-old guy was pretty exhausted before being even half way there...I did end up walking up some of the longest grades...

And, imagine being so out of practice you were like a wobbly little kid riding a bike for the first time.
Add to that the fact that I found out after taking off that the handle bars had a wobble to them -- a bolt needed tightening -- and seriously I was worried about not just my stabilty but my safety -- even though I was on bike lanes on the most travelled roads, I felt like at any time I might just wobble out into the car lane and wham!

Well, I did make it back, totally worn out, rested for a half hour or so and now am feeling a bit more functional.

And now you can all laugh at me..go ahead, laugh out loud, yeah, go ahead. And just wait...

That's why you take advantage of the clean smell and give them a good sniffing. Hold your breath the rest of the time.

Cycling has no age limit Tony and it's a great form of excercise. :) I'm hoping to continue cycling till I can't do it anymore. You'd be surprised at how many retired folk I see on one of the flat trails I ride on. :)

The stuff on the bottom is a butter/sugar/flour/milk dough that rises when cooked. Rhubarb is put on top, then a whole bunch of white sugar. Then fruit juice is poured over top. The dough rises up around the rhubarb and the sugar/fruit juice turns into a nice sticky sauce with the rhubarb.

ohhhhh that really sounds Tasty :D

basically we are buying the Mahogany trees since we have our own manufacturing plant and somehow the land looks like its a giveaway

1. Lawyers tend to log "billable" hours which may or may not translate to real hours. For first year associates a 7 "billable hours" might actually be closer to 10 real hours. This seems to be a way to gauge how much work you have done for your firm. As for what the client pays, it depends. Some pay by the hour, some pay a percent of their winnings. I am not sure if I will be buying tons of toys once I start earning... first year lawyers from my area don't earn that much... $70-$100Kish... I need to prolly raise a family by then :D

We will dedicate one of our rooms as a office so my main computer will likely be there although I might keep a laptop in the studio.

so how does POTN factor in the billable hours thing? :p:p
