Light box vs umbrella

What is e difference between using a DIY ligbox for still life and using a white paper background and a couple shoot through umbrellas?


Body: 5DMKIII
Lenses: 17-40L, 24-70L, EF 50 1.4, EF 85 1.8, EF 70-200 F4 L, Lens Baby
Flash: 2x Canon 430EX

It depends on how you position the lights and the distance to the white paper bg. I imagine with a lightbox you'll have softer shadows and maybe be able to control reflections a bit better.
