Hi folks. Please remember I'm new to this and still learning :D I'm going to Riviera Maya, Mexico this weekend and would like to ask the experts here on which lens would be useful and worthy to bring. I'd probably like to bring a couple of lenses to keep the weight light. I know I'll mostly shoot my family, nature and landscapes. Thanks in advance.
my lenses
50mm 1.8
18-55 kit lens
55-250 kit lens
28-135 IS USM

Canon EOS T1i, 55-250mm IS, 50mm 1.8 II, 28-135 IS USM, SIGMA 17-50mm EX DC OS HSM, 430EXII

18-55 IS. I say version 1 with the silver stripe. I notice the version 2 that came with the T3 is all black. sorry i wasn't specific.

I'd say bring the 18-55 and the 55-250.

Bring everything but the 28-135 as that is covered by the other lenses. 18-55 for landscapes and general shooting. 50mm for late evening when the light drops, 55-250 if you think you will see any interesting wildlife or to catch any fun activities. Those are really light lenses, so all 3 should be easy to pack. At least bring the 18-55 and 50mm because you will definitely find yourself needing wide and low light shots.

+1.

I just got back from Puerto Vallarta and had no problem with focal lengths similar to this (24-105L, 70-300L and Nifty Fifty).

I actually hardly used the 70-300 with the exception of a dozen shots. The 24-105 was on 90% of the time and the 50 5% of the time.

Bring them all and experiment, it's a great time to fool around with them and know what to take next time.

Mexico has people, buildings, streetscapes, landscapes, tourist attractions - probably very similar things to what is in the area where you usually photograph.
The same stuff - just a different country.
Take what you'd normally use.

All except the 28-135. Those are all plastic and light weight, and will cover any type of shooting you encounter.

+1 for 28-135mm. I'd even grab a 18-270mm or something in that range. And I'd also find a fast prime useful for those evening walks along the beach.
