I have a Tamron lens I want to send in to have checked out. Who has a good reputation for doing such work? Does anyone know anything about "United camera repair" in Illinois?

You might want to check if United would just send it to Tamron. If so, you'll probably end up paying extra shipping and handling costs going through United versus dealing with Tamron directly.

Tamron's website lists United as one of the places to send to for repair.
