All with 1dm3 and 70-200f4 non-IS, which made getting these slow shutter speed shots painfully difficult...I'd be hopeless without the 10 fps of the 1d, haha. This architectural shooter does not have the gear necessary for this stuff, but I cannot get enough anyway  planes are just the coolest thing ever but I only get to shoot them rarely.

I'd love some help ID'ing these aircraft so I can read up some more on them.

Not sure what this is- Yak 11?

Also not sure on this guy - looks like some sort of spitfire variant but I don't think it is, as I couldn't find any info on it.

#3 = P-47 Thunderbolt and Focke Wulf Fw-190

Last one is a Skyraider. Not sure if it's an A-1D or A-1H though.

"Right gear" or not, Mike, these are some terrific shots. I really like the B-25!

That's an odd looking Skyraider, so I looked it up. It's an A-1E that was used for special operations.

Very nice variety in this set! The Yak-11 and the Firefly stand out as my faves.

Great work considering you don't have IS. I'm in the same boat, it's a lot more satisfying when you get that keeper though eh? ;)

Thanks! Though you can still tell when you get the shot in person - sometimes you just know your panning is perfect in the viewfinder :) I will try to pick up a 100-400 or something for the next shows I go to, 200 is just dreadfully short for some stuff unfortunately. Great for the statics though.

I drove (yes, drove) from Lake Tahoe! A good ten hours down 395

Granted I got a double whammy out of it because I got to visit relatives, but you couldn't have wiped the smile off my face with a baseball bat at that show.
