I would like to use Ilford Gold Fibre Silk paper in my Epson R3000. I love the detail and color, but when I loaded an 8.5 x 11" test sheet in the rear paper feeder as suggested, the printer head struck the last inch of the paper as it exited.
I've read that you have to widen the platen gap to solve this problem. But won't that reduce detail if the printing head is farther from the paper?
The Ilford package says not to use the front feeder with this paper, but it's just as thick as the Hahnemuhle Photo Rag that must be loaded from the front. Would front loading solve the problem instead of widening the platen distance?
