Hi chaps, I have the Lowepro Sling Shot 100 AW but am awaiting a new 70-200mm and I don't think it will fit into the bag even off camera, Iike the slingshot principal, where it can be swung around the body for easy access and wondered if anyone had any experience with the bag and this set-up (I also have a 17-85 and a nifty 50) ... of course I also want the world - ie not toooo big a bag (hence the request for advice ie I can take the measurements from Lowepro site but first hand experience is always best).

Many thanks Roger

If you have a battery grip the ThinkTank V50 holster works great with the 70-200/f2.8, 400L/f5.6, or the similar length Sigmas:

If your rebel is non-gripped the below V30 works great:

They come with a shoulder strap also.

Of course you didnt mention if your 70-200mm is the f4 or 2.8 ?

And if you insist on Lowepro then buy from the below reputable vendor whom has the best prices to my knowledge:

Regards, ;)

You're right, your 70-200 won't fit in your current bag. You might want to consider the Lowepro Flipside. It's a backpack, not a sling bag, but you can still swing it around your body and access your gear without taking the bag off. I love mine, and find it much more comfortable to carry than my old Slingshot. I have the Flipside 200, and it easily fits my 40D with 70-200 attached or not, plus a couple of other lenses and my Speedlite. Highly recommended.

I have the mid size Slingshot (200 or 202, not sure) and I can fit my 7D with my 70-200 2.8 IS mounted, but I have to play with the padding and mount it vertically. Fits pretty well and still enough room for some other things.

If you do a search online it seems like some people were able to get the F4 to fit in the 100. Here is an article and photo of how the person did it: http://stuff.silverorange.com …08/april/loweproslingshot (external link)

If you look around, you should be able to find some creative examples of how people have managed to put all manner of things in their slingshots. I think there's a thread about it here on PoTN, but I'm on a phone right now so I won't be able to give you a link. It's just about moving the padding from where you'd expect it to go. So a 70-200 2.8 would fit in a slingshot 200 but I doubt it would fit in the 100. That thing is pretty small.

I am selling my 100 as it will not fit the 70-200 f/4L.
It has to be squeezed in without a body attached.

Thanks to one and all for the really helpful advice, I'm probably going to try cramming it into the 100 or trade it for one of the 200 models .... good of you to take the time ... Roger

Go for the 200 at least if you dont intend expanding your gear.

I have the 50D with 15-85 and had the 70-200 in the 100 before. You have to put the accessories in there up in the top and the lens goes in on an angle. If you go the 200, you'll soon run out again after a lens or two, so I went the 400 for future expansion.
