I have the Cactus Wireless Flash Trigger V4 set but have never gotten around to using it for flash photography.

Can I use this device just as a remote shutter release instead? (no flash involved)

I can't seem to find the answer in the manual or on this forum. Thanks!

Thank you for responding and the helpful link. For some reason I have a really hard time understanding the ins & outs of wireless accessories which is why the flash triggers are still sitting around unused.

I'm also thinking now that perhaps all I need is more of a remote - I just want to trigger the camera shutter (Canon dslr's) without a cord attachment.
