Nice! I like the first picture!

Any thoughts on using this on 5d classic without liveview?
I am switching to 5dc after I just learn how to use this

No problems here. Just use the EE-S screen and you'll be fine.

Just got the nikon vivitar version of this lens. These shots were taken with an adapter on a canon body. It definitely is much easier to focus with on the d800 and the focus confirm chip. I have the ee-s screen on my 5d and it is still very tough to tell where the focus is.

Overall, this lens is very sharp even wide open on the d800!

I use it with a t2i, and I use liveview and go to 5x to nail focus for an extra precaution. Works fine with me once you get used to the lens after a few times out. I wouldn't recommend viewfinder focusing close to wide open.

Nope, I just have the canon version no confirmation chip, no focus screen, just liveview.

I use it mainly for portraits, I've used it for landscapes and star shots too, though. My recent shots were sports so I had to prefocus in a spot to hit the shot but it worked out great. Liveview on it's own has done great for me at least.

I've just received mine and I love it already :D. The focus ring is great and the lens is so sharp at 1.4. Can't wait to go out shooting with it!

just to let you know how to declick the rokinon lens, I made a thread/video on how to do so. (in summary use electrical tape after removing the ball bearing and steel spring so that the aperture ring retains tension.)

https://photography-on-the.net …/showthread.php?t=1214774

also, the build quality is nowhere near canon's L glass. If you move the rubber focusing grip, the internal components will be exposed. This lens is absolutely not weather proof, so be careful.
