Make your brush small and stroke from the inside out.
I don't know if it was intended to work this way but many times which way you stroke the brush can change on how it fills it.

Also 99% of the time I fix the edges before adding the border.

you have the Zeiss ZE 35mm f2 Distagon... you will gain nothing by getting this lens.
the zeiss will destroy this lens in every respect.
F/1.4 isnt going to give you much and surely isnt worth having another 35mm in that long list of lenses.

Well only cause theres zeiss on it doesnt man that is crushes everything...maybe buildwise yeah.
- Saymang has less vigneting (even if you both wide open
- both are amazingly sharp
- zeiss gives you the "zeiss color"
- samyang gives you a great f/1.4
- samyang is much much cheaper :p

- samyang has the red ring :D ..just joking ;)
i'd take the samyang!

Couldn't agree more fotuwe, I've had the Zeiss 35/2 and have done some comparisons, the Zeiss had the edge in contrast, build and the slightly wider field of view, the Samyang has the extra stop and better IQ across the range with the exception of the Zeiss being marginally sharper at the centre at f/2.

It has less distortion, vignetting and better CA control than the Zeiss.

It is also less than half the price of the Zeiss when typically one must pay a lot more for that extra stop.

So in summary :
Samyang 35mm 1.4:
+Less vignetting
+Less Distortion
+Better CA control
+Better IQ overall
+Extra Stop
+Half the price

Zeiss 35/2
+3D Effect
+Centre at f/2
+Build
+Smaller and Lighter
+Wider Field of view
+Electronic coupling and AF confirm
+Colours, Bokeh and Contrast(subjective)
+Focus ring dampening(subjective)

As you can see they both have their positives, it's up to each person to decide what they value more! For me I can do without most of the Zeiss advantages as they aren't really deal breakers and if you shoot mostly at f/1.4 then the Samyang wins obviously. After all isn't that pretty much the reason why people get f/1.4 lenses..?

For such an affordable lens, you can't beat this.

haha i guess it may be a case of "the grass is greener on the other side". guess i've got to use my zeiss 35/2 more often! it is one of my best lens considering raw performance.

i think samyang hit a home run with this lens. just looking at this thread you get a sense of how quickly this new product is being adopted by the photographer community.

I have used both and prefer the zeiss ... But... For the performance to dollar ratio the samyang wins ..

Overall the zeiss wins. But dollar for dollar it's the Sammy.

Wow great photos! Very vibrant and crisp.

Hi, there i've been following this thread for a long time, but didn't had the time to post some shots with this lens because of work. Just five samples, i'll upload more when time is available.

http://www.flickr.com …r/sets/72157627042597383/ (external link)

All taken at f/2.0 with a 7D focusing through the viewfiender (not the LCD).

I tried posting images from flickr with the insert image icon but didn't work.
Hope soon i'll fix it.
