Or did I just get a bad copy? Is this lens not meant for outdoor use? Most of my best shots are taken outside. May I ask what picture style/profile you are using as that may have something to do with it. RZ67, Pentax 67, 5D mk II

Is this lens not meant for outdoor use? you are not alone. I just got this lens today. it suffers from some pretty bad CA wide open, gets less if stopped down to f/2.0, almost gone with further stopping down to f/2.8 f/2.0 f/2.8

And I mainly shoot wide open, so that could be the culprit. I bought this mainly so I could shoot wide open at f/1.4. Now I'm debating whether I should keep it or not. Nitpicking on a lens that costs 3 times less than the Canon is quite odd 5Dii, Samyang 35mm f/1.4 UMC | C/Y 35-70/3.4 T* | MPE 65&MT-24EX | 85L II | 135L | 70-200/4L

No, you're absolutely correct. I do really appreciate the quality that it gives me for a 450 dollar lens. I've gotten some nice results when I am able to focus right Canon 60D | Samyang 35 1.4 | Canon 50mm 1.8 II | FlickR

I made a how to video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gu3qQlMNPUk Yup, I also did the same last week. I prefer a smooth aperture ring b/c I do a lot of video (non-professional though) and sometimes the light changes a lot. Lmbnk wrote in post #14996029 I bought this lens yesterday! I think manual focusing isn't that hard, but it is hard ... So I'm stuck using "Live View" mode for now ![]() But if I change my focusing screen to EG-S, is that really helpful? And from today
Mercedes Babes When I installed the focusing screen at first, it didn't seem like there was any difference; but after using it for a couple of months and then switching back to the normal screen, I noticed a HUGE difference. It helps a lot. Daniel
