Having recently got the bug for Zeiss and with 35mm being a gap in my lens lineup I am seriously tempted by this.

just installed the tagotech dandelion af chip. AF seems to be accurate. It's programed at 1.4, but do i need to program each and every f stop ie 2, 2.8...?

The manual doesn't mention anything clearly or specifically about programming AF confirm for each stop so I think it's a global thing. I've shot at f/2 and f/5.6 at times and it seems to function without any noticeable discrepancies.

My tests at f/1.4 were spot on, however out in the field I find myself adjusting it manually after the AF confirm to get the exact focus I want sometimes because the DOF at f/1.4 is so thin depending on the distance, therefore the EG-S screen is a must as well. I'll definitely be keeping tabs on how it goes at smaller aperatures though now that you mention it :)

thank you Noodlz :)

I am still amazed how sharp this lens wide open is.. still busy with studying no time for photography :/
It's really easy to focus. Can't compare it to their 85/1.4..

I'd have one of these right now if it weren't so honkin' big! It seems like it'd unfortunately be really cruddy for shooting candids, as people will immediately assume it's a telephoto and think you're shooting extreme closeups of their face. If Voigtlander can make their super tiny 35/1.4 (obviously much of this tinyness is due to the small register distance of the mount), one would think that someone could make one that is significantly smaller than the Samyang. But it does look awesome!

My first post here. I've had this glass for less than a week and I really love it. I'm waiting for Dandelion AF chip to arrive. Anyway, here are some test pics I just took. These are straight from camera, only done RAW to jpg conversion in LR3 and upped to flickr. Shot using monopod.

1:1 Something blue/green and red glow. What is this? This seems to happen when shooting white sharp objects in bright lighting.
